My Favorite White Paints

Let’s talk about white paint. White walls are anything but boring. They keep the space light and bright and let your furniture and decor stand out. There are a lot of white paints out there and it’s hard to pick the right one. I’ve narrowed down some of my favorites.

If your trim is already white and you are looking to paint the walls white, I recommend painting the walls the same color as the trim. If you do the walls a different white than the trim it can be very tricky to match the undertones and can make a beautiful white look too warm or too cool.

If you decide to paint the whole room – meaning doors, trim and walls – you have more options in your white paint. If you are already investing in new paint it is best to go ahead and paint the whole space the white you love instead of settling. I recommend doing the walls in an eggshell finish and the trim and doors in satin finish. The different sheens will provide some contrast and you won’t run in to any issues with the tones not working together.

I prefer Benjamin Moore paint. My top four whites are:

Benjamin Moore Simply White

Simply White is a beautiful white with a very slight yellow undertone. This warm undertone makes it a soft and inviting white that works with a lot of different decor styles.

Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace

Chantilly Lace is a bright white. It has a very slight cool undertone which makes it a more modern white. Don’t let that scare you, it’s very versatile and perfect if you are looking for a true white.

Benjamin Moore White Dove

White Dove is a gorgeous off white. It has yellow and gray undertones that balance each other out beautifully. White Dove is gorgeous in spaces that get a lot of natural light. It is also one of my favorite whites for the exterior. If you love the undertones of White Dove but want it to be a bit brighter, I recommend trying it at 75% strength.

Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee

Swiss Coffee is another soft, off white but with a little more warmth and yellow undertones. I prefer Swiss Coffee at 75% strength because it helps to soften the yellow and is brighter.

If you are a fan of Sherwin Williams paint, I recommend checking out Alabaster, Greek Villa, White Flour and Pure White. I haven’t had as much experience with these colors but have heard great things about them.

I always recommend sampling white paints in your home because the lighting and other elements can make them look different in every space. Hope this helped narrow down some white paint options for you! Don’t be afraid to go white on your walls it can change the entire feel of your space.
